QOPI is a voluntary self-assessment and improvement program that helps medical oncology practices evaluate the quality of the care they provide to patients. Developed by ASCO, it provides a methodology to analyze performance based on internationally recognized quality measures. Practices that meet the highest standards of care can achieve QOPI Certification, a prestigious recognition of their commitment to excellence.

Fundación ECO’s Exclusive Alliance with ASCO in Spain

Our founding organization, Fundación ECO, holds a unique and exclusive partnership with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to implement the QOPI® Certification Program in Spain. This strategic alliance makes ECO the sole entity responsible for guiding Spanish hospitals through the certification process, a testament to the trust and expertise it has built over more than a decade.

The Model for Global Excellence

The success of the QOPI program under Fundación ECO in Spain is the benchmark for quality that drives the Global Cancer Alliance. The expertise gained from this pioneering work—from data management to implementing improvement plans—forms the core of the knowledge that GCA offers to the world. While the certification itself is managed by ECO in Spain, the principles and best practices learned are universal.
